What is a Labradoodle?
A Labradoodle is a cross between a Poodle and a Labrador Retriever. These dogs are often described by generation labels such as F1, F1B, and multigen. Because many Labradoodles are early-generation crosses, their genetics can vary significantly, which means puppies may take after one parent more than the other.
As a result, Labradoodles can have a wide range of appearances, coat types, sizes, and temperaments. Coats may range from flatter, more Labrador-like coats to dense, wool-like Poodle coats, with variations in length, texture, thickness, and shedding. Because of this genetic variation, traits such as coat type, adult size, temperament, and even health outcomes can be less predictable.
